It's Started...

It's amazing, Ali has graduated to posts about things she says, that are cute enough to share even without pictures.
So, lately...

Reading one of her favorite Bearenstain Bears books about "counting your blessings,"
Ali (turning to me): phone in Ali's room
Mama: What?
Ali: like Lizzy's house. in bear's room.
The story is about not focusing on what other's have, but being thankful for what you do. Apparently Ali caught onto the part about how it's cool to have a phone in your room.

At breakfast...
Ali: [s]fwan boats
Mama: yeah, wasn't that fun? we went on the swan boats this week.
Ali: do it again

We've been working gently on encouraging Ali to sleep in her big bed. It's all dolled up with the cuteest quilt, pink flower sheets, lots of fun pillows, and all her cuddly friends. We read many mornings & evenings cuddled there together, and Ali spends lots of her own time nuzzled up there playing.
Last night, while reading one of her favorite bedtime books, we noted tthe dinosaurs snuggled into their big beds.
Dad: would you like to sleep in your big bed tonight?
Ali: no.
Dad: why not?
Ali: do not like it.

Maybe these do not seem all that funny to you, but for us, they've been jaw dropping moments as we realize how our little girl is growing up fast. It's amazing to us what she comes up with on her own to say. She'll only be two next month, but the list of conversational funnies is already begun.
